It’s a place with a long and fascinating history…one of the unique
Cobblestone buildings that date back to the Erie Canal era. Indeed, what is
now the Wilson House Restaurant & Inn in Wilson, NY, was built back in 1844.
Now, another chapter of that history is being written, as John Cracchiola
and Caren Ashkar assume operation of Wilson’s most famous building.
As the new Innkeepers of the Wilson House, as it is commonly known, they
immediately undertook an extensive updating and refurbishing of the
restaurant and inn, including a re-appointment of the main dining and
banquet rooms, as well as the pub area.
In addition, the popular front porch of this historic gathering place has
been screened-in, for the comfort of up to forty dinner guests. Since the
Wilson House also provides lodging, all seven of the guest rooms have been
completely renovated.
John and Caren, of course, are no strangers to the hospitality industry. For
the past eight years, they have owned and operated Dacc’s, a successful and
well-respected dinner house on Millersport Highway in Getzville, NY.
Not surprisingly, some of Dacc’s gourmet specialties can also be found on
the new menu of the Wilson House Restaurant & Inn, along with an extensive
number of other Wilson House entrees, priced $10.99 and under. These
modestly-priced meals share the menu with casual favorites, such as pizza,
subs, and Buffalo Wings. Also featured are homemade salad dressings.
Besides serving lunches and dinners, the Wilson House Restaurant & Inn also
offers banquets and off-premises catering.
The Wilson House Restaurant & Inn, located at 300 Lake Street in Wilson,
NY…a place with a great history and now a bright, new future.
