From The Ends Of The Earth

FROM THE ENDS OF THE EARTH. It’s both the name of their gallery and boutique and the source of the unique things you’ll find inside.

For owners Don and Barb Siegel, it all began with an African safari a few years back…one in which the creations of the local artisans proved to be as fascinating as the wild animals they encountered.

Along with their photographs and their memories, the Siegels returned with hundreds of beautiful and exotic items, which they subsequently sold from their home.
 

As exhibitors at the Erie County Fair, they twice won FIRST PRIZE for Most Outstanding Display.

Now, their safari discoveries and hundreds of other gift and decorating pieces from nearly thirty countries can be seen and purchased at From the Ends of the Earth in Williamsville, NY.
 

To be sure, much of what they offer is from Africa, including five foot Wooden Giraffes, hand carved and painted Ostrich Eggs, Tribal Masks, Woven Baskets, and
hand-crafted jewelry.

It doesn’t stop there, however. As a result of their extensive travel and cultural contacts with artisans in numerous other countries, the Siegels are also able to offer such things as Soap Stone Carvings, Mesquite Jewelry Boxes, Hand-blown Vases, Silk Scarves, and exquisite tableware.

For animals lovers, the gallery carries miniature versions of exotic animals from around the world.

From Ghana come their so-called “Unity Tables”. Carved from a single piece of wood, these table bases depict three, five, or seven people intertwined and can be opened or folded with a literal “flick of the wrist”.
 

In providing these treasures, including collectibles from the around the world, the Siegels are sharing more than the artistry of those who created them, of course. They’re also sharing a bit of their culture, and, along with that, greater understanding of others who share planet Earth.
