The “Father of Chiropractic” was Right! |
|
His name was D. D. Palmer, known
as the “father of chiropractic”, and he believed strongly that when it comes
to maintaining good health, it makes sense to adjust the causes than to
treat the effects. Now, more than 100 years later, millions of people around
the world share his views, as do professionals throughout the health care
industry.

Like Palmer, Dr. Anthony Buscaglia of Amherst sees the benefits of
chiropractic care in his patients every day…people who experience
improvement in a variety of conditions and just don’t get sick as often as
they used to. The thing is, you see, no matter what the condition; skin
problems, allergies, asthma, neck or back pain, headaches, insomnia, or many
others, you need a healthy spine.
It makes perfect sense, of course. After all, nerve tissue is so important
that it’s protected by bone. The spinal cord is covered by 24 bones. And,
many everyday things cause these bones to lose their normal motion or
position. The result is degenerative changes throughout the body. It’s
something doctors refer to as the Vertebral Subluxation Complex.

Dr. Buscaglia utilizes a number
of chiropractic adjustment techniques, including Diversified, Cox, Thompson,
and Gonstead…all of which are designed to reduce stress, increase resistance
to disease and improve function. They’re techniques learned as part of an
impressive education in chiropractic medicine.
That schooling included study at Valparaiso University, SUNY Buffalo, and
New York Chiropractic, from which he graduated with his Doctor of
Chiropractic degree in 1997.
Today, Dr. Buscaglia, who has been is practice for eight years, works in a
multiple doctor setting, where he sees all kinds of patients…from children
to geriatric adults.
