You can thank the Aldrich brothers, Scott and Brian, for what can provide a fun, family outing….one that’s conveniently located just off the NYS Thruway at Fredonia.

Let’s start with Aldrich’s Beef and Ice Cream Parlor, a very popular family eatery that’s operated since 1975. It was an outgrowth of their dad’s dairy business, which he established twenty years prior to that. It’s now an old fashioned ice cream parlor, featuring the company’s own home-made ice cream, in several delicious flavors.
 

Every April 1st, Scott also produces a truly unusual flavor to go along with April Fools’ Day. Some of his past whimsical offerings have included such flavors as “Beef Gravy”, “Pork & Beans”, “Bacon & Eggs”…..even “Sauerkraut”. He’s had a lot of fun with the annual tradition and drawn lots of media attention, as well.

All year long, Aldrich’s does a great business, serving “down home” style breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant is located along Route 60, about a half mile south of Route 20. The phone number is 672-5133.


Next door to the restaurant, Scott’s brother, Brian, has opened Vineyard Falls Miniature Golf Course, a nicely landscaped 18-hole course, featuring a ten foot rock waterfall, streams, and spray fountains. The water helps create a relaxing atmosphere and adds some challenges to the course itself.
 

Along with the miniature golf course, there’s a pavilion you can rent for family outings.
